SummaryThe Maintenance Technician 3 will assist in leading a team to provide a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role will support the Facility Manager to ensure store equipment and building systems are fully operational and maintained for maximum efficiency. The position involves supporting multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business area.
Responsibilities- Ensure HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurants, entries and signs, and building systems are fully operational.
- Respond to daily break-fix and on-demand requests, and delegate work orders to Maintenance Technician II and I.
- Communicate with Store Leadership and assist with administrative tasks such as ordering parts and setting up meetings.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and acting as a safety champion.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations and respond to store emergencies.
- Lead and perform preventive maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment.
- Operate and monitor building controls and associated equipment.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management.
- Act as the face of the facilities business in place of the Facility Manager by attending meetings.
- Assist Facility Manager with technical training of new employees on equipment and building systems.
- Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and in-store business partners.
Requirements- High School Diploma/GED required; Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities with an emphasis in mechanical, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills.
- 5+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in reading and using electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Previous experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions and low voltage signal tracing.
- Able to work without supervision and meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with all organizational levels.
- Strong dedication to supporting facilities by working in a safe, customer-focused manner.
- Ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and web-based applications.
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads up to 49 lbs.
