Summary
The Operations Supervisor is a one-year temporary role based at the Yorkdale store responsible for supporting and improving day-to-day retail operations. You will implement brand guidelines, lead operational projects end-to-end, and provide training and process improvements to optimize stock flow, loss prevention, and customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and partners with inventory, CRM and merchandising teams to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement operational improvements to protect product assets and reduce stock loss.
- Support the Store Manager in driving best practices and efficient store processes.
- Conduct trainings for new hires and follow-up training on the store operating system (Cegid).
- Manage stock management, replenishment processes, weekly cycle counts and annual inventory activities.
- Lead operational projects and provide support during new launches with HQ and store teams.
- Optimize stockroom organization to improve fetch times and storage efficiency.
- Develop forecasting tools for sales, stock and headcount/payroll planning.
- Own vendor/supplier relationships and facilities management, and manage gift recording compliance.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance in line with company policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of retail experience and at least 3 years managing people.
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on customer service and sales floor performance.
- Experience with inventory control processes and store systems (Cegid) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Knowledge of retail security, health and safety legislation and P&L monitoring.
- Availability to work retail schedules including nights, weekends and holidays; foreign languages a plus.
