Responsibilities
- Perform polishing and specialty restoration techniques on jewelry and silver according to design and quality standards
- Prioritize and complete assigned orders to meet store dates
- Review repair requests and seek clarification before beginning work
- Perform pre-checks on assigned orders and report unusual conditions or missing items
- Maintain organized work areas and accurate production logs of completed orders
- Communicate processing, capacity, and quality concerns to management
- Support washer tasks including ultrasonic, steam, hand cleaning and rhodium plating
- Develop product knowledge and technical skills by working with experienced coworkers
Requirements
- Technical training or 5 years of polishing experience with gold, platinum, silver and precious stones
- Experience using multi or single-speed polishing machines and various rouges
- Ability to communicate effectively about polishing processes
- Successful completion of a polishing bench test
- Familiarity with lapping machines
- Understanding of polishing equipment, dust collection and wash out equipment
- Knowledge of plating, enameling, silversmith and sandblasting processes
