Job Description

Join a dynamic and growing trim supplier with global operations across factories in India, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Turkey, plus six mills in Italy. We provide high-quality buttons, metal components, custom jewelry, and fashion accessories to the international apparel, leather goods, and home industries. We foster a family-oriented, entrepreneurial culture where people stay and grow.

As the Sales & Production Manager (NYC), you’ll lead new business and key account growth while managing product development and coordinating production with our overseas partners.

Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth: Prospect, pitch, quote, and close new business; expand existing accounts with a sales-first focus.
  • Client coverage: Conduct 3–5 in-person client meetings per week across the NYC metro; travel within the East Coast as needed.
  • Product development management: Own the lifecycle from brief to prototype to PO hand off: costing, timelines, feasibility, testing requirements, and margin targets.
  • Production coordination: Track WIP and OTIF delivery; align with Italy/India/Bangladesh/Hong Kong counterparts; troubleshoot quality and scheduling issues.
  • Account P&L: Price to target margins, forecast demand, and analyze sales/mix to hit financial objectives.
  • Service & retention: Build durable client relationships through consistent follow-up, problem solving, and on-site presentations.
  • Reporting & tools: Maintain CRM hygiene; prepare weekly pipeline and production status reports; use Excel/Sheets for quoting and analysis.
  • Market presence: Represent the company at market appointments, trade shows, and product knowledge sessions.
  • Examples of current accounts (NY focus): Kith, L.L.Bean, Club Monaco, John Varvatos, Kohl’s, Eileen Fisher, Alice + Olivia, Gitman Bros., Madewell.
Ideal Candidate
  • Sales-dominant profile with excellent follow-up and closing discipline.
  • Fast learner who retains technical details (materials, finishes, plating, dyeing, testing standards).
  • Comfortable working across cultures and time zones (Italy, Bangladesh, India, Hong Kong).
  • Physically able to lift and transport sample luggage up to 70 lbs for client meetings.
  • Backgrounds that translate well: fabric, thread/linings, packaging, or wholesale apparel sales.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in B2B sales, account management, or production/product development (fashion or adjacent industry experience helpful but not required).
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills; comfort with P&L/margin math.
  • Proficiency with CRM and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for client visits; open to East Coast travel.
  • Ability to work on-site in NYC 4 days/week with 1 rotating remote day.
