Summary
Senior Manager responsible for overseeing the New York City workshop technical team to ensure timely delivery and high quality standards for monthly High Jewelry production. This role manages manufacturing schedules, develops technical training and SOPs, and acts as a subject matter expert to promote technical excellence, accountability and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of technical experts at varying career stages
- Provide daily technical guidance and mentorship to workshop technicians
- Ensure timely delivery of monthly production schedule while maintaining quality standards
- Perform in-progress quality assessments during production and repair processes
- Manage and monitor performance and KPIs and identify training needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior workshop management to allocate resources and support escalated orders
- Oversee technical training plans including engraving and staff development
- Collaborate with sub-contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of orders
- Develop and implement workshop SOPs and manage workshop equipment maintenance and supplies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum seven years working as a bench jeweler and five years managing a team
- Experience with polishing and or setting preferred
- Working knowledge of CAD software and experience using SAP preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving and critical reasoning skills
- High level of emotional intelligence and accountability
- Proficiency in French is a plus
- Valid work authorization for employment in the USA
