Senior Tax Associate

The Senior Tax Associate at David Yurman is responsible for preparing and reconciling sales and use tax schedules, as well as filing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of indirect taxes and general accounting principles.

• Prepare and reconcile all indirect tax schedules, including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and commercial rent tax.
• File various indirect tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis both manually and via return preparation software.
• Assist with software implementations and use various research tools to stay updated on current tax law changes.
• Maintain current business licenses and apply for new state and local licenses for new businesses or stores.
• Assist the Tax Manager with state audits and various finance initiatives.
• Address and investigate tax notices from various jurisdictions.

• 2-4 years of experience with indirect taxes, specifically sales tax, and general accounting.
• Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., Vertex) preferred.
• Experience with general accounting software (e.g., Oracle).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proactive mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• BBA in Accounting.
