Serge Sewer

Summary

The Serge Sewer sews fabric upholstery pieces to quality and product specifications using a serge sewing machine and hand tools. This role supports production by reading production tickets, performing machine preventive maintenance, and completing assigned tasks to meet manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a serge sewing machine safely to produce quality upholstery pieces
• Read and follow instructions on production tickets and sew notes
• Use hand tools such as scissors and other sewing tools
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain assigned sewing machines
• Lift, carry, push, pull or grip materials up to 50 lbs
• Multitask with minimal supervision to meet production needs
• Perform other duties as required across the manufacturing area

Requirements

• At least 6 months prior experience in a similar sewing or upholstery role
• Knowledge of upholstery products and sewing techniques
• Able to read and understand production tickets and sew notes
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members
• Detail oriented with consistent attendance and punctuality
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and reach with arms during shifts
