Shoe Care Specialist - Shops At Merrick Park

Summary

Provides professional shoe care and shining services to customers on the sales floor, delivering outstanding customer service while meeting department and individual productivity goals. Performs shoe cleaning, shining, and minor repairs, maintains the shine stand, and records transactions and tips accurately. Uses store technology to assist customers, answer phones, and process sales. May assist with other shoe stock and cleaning tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform shoe care tasks according to Nordstrom guidelines and service standards
• Ensure the shine stand is organized and ready to serve customers
• Shine shoes and provide consultations on shoe care and minor repairs
• Utilize store technology to answer phones, check out customers, and record customer information
• Meet department and individual productivity goals
• Communicate supply needs to management and maintain accurate records of shoe care transactions and tips
• Flex into other shoe stock and cleaning tasks when needed

Requirements

• Basic math, organization, and written communication skills
• Previous shoeshine experience preferred; minimum 1 year preferred
• Ability to build relationships with customers, peers, and leadership through clear and professional communication
• Willingness to learn, ownership for personal growth, and ability to work independently
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule based on business needs
• Physical ability for continuous movement, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds
