SummaryAs a Sr Accounting Manager at MCM, you will manage the daily accounting operations for North America and Canada, overseeing a team responsible for Accounts Receivable, Cash/Sales Reconciliation, and Inventory reporting. Based in Secaucus, NJ, you will report to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities- Lead the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate journal entries.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and provide commentary for flux analysis.
- Assist in monthly financial reporting and variance analysis to the global finance team.
- Oversee Lease & Fixed Asset accounting for accuracy.
- Manage Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely resolution of chargebacks and current aging.
- Oversee cash/sales reconciliation and prepare bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate Accounts Payable payments.
- Partner with Logistics and Retail teams for accurate inventory management.
- Reconcile and report sales taxes monthly and oversee compliance audits.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and coordinate with tax consultants.
- Collaborate with IT and Global finance on process improvements and system initiatives.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Requirements- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar position.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; CPA license is a plus.
- Preferred experience in Wholesale/Retail Accounting.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS regulations.
- Familiarity with foreign exchange and intercompany reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- SAP and Avalara/sales tax software experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Forward-looking thinker with process improvement skills.
