Overview
We are a second‐generation family‐owned fine jewelry retailer established in 1955, serving a multigenerational clientele with an on‐site repair shop and custom fabrication facility. Located at a prominent corner since 1968, we maintain an inventory of over 5,000 finished pieces and manage 10–40 special orders and repairs simultaneously. With 127 five‐star Google reviews, our appointment‐based model (with qualified walk-ins) emphasizes personalized service and customer satisfaction over volume. We operate Monday through Friday (with occasional holiday season weekends) supported by a dedicated team of 3–4 sales associates. We are seeking a committed Store Manager to lead front‐of‐house sales, cultivate lasting client relationships, and eventually oversee inventory, repairs, and special orders.
Responsibilities
- Drive front‐of‐house sales through exceptional customer service and relationship building
- Manage appointment scheduling and qualify walk‐in clients to ensure a seamless experience
- Supervise and mentor a small team of 3–4 sales associates, fostering a collaborative, client-first culture
- Oversee inventory of finished pieces, coordinate replenishment, and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate in-house repair and special order workflows, ensuring timely delivery and quality control
- Develop and implement operational systems for inventory, repair, and order management
- Ensure smooth daily operations Monday–Friday and assist during holiday season weekends as needed
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term succession planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the jewelry industry preferred; mature candidates without prior experience will be considered
- Genuine passion for fine jewelry and commitment to a long-term (15–20 year) career path
- Excellent listening skills and a client-centric service philosophy that prioritizes needs over sales targets
- Able to “disarm” clients through empathy, trust, and tailored guidance rather than high-pressure tactics
- Willingness to undergo extensive training (3–5 years) to master all facets of the business
- Flexible, entrepreneurial mindset suited to a family-run environment rather than rigid corporate structures
- Located in Brooklyn, Queens, or Nassau County with convenient access to LIRR or E/F train lines
- Professional maturity, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive in a close-knit team setting
