Summary
The Store Operations Manager oversees back-of-house processes to ensure operational excellence, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and compliance with retail policies. This role coordinates product flows, stock reconciliation, omnichannel store activities, and cash management while supporting store leadership and enhancing the client experience. The manager drives process improvements and trains the store team on operational standards and systems.
Responsibilities
- Implement and train the team on retail policies, procedures, and operation manuals.
- Organize sellable product flows and manage stock capacity, rotation, and storage to support sales.
- Oversee omnichannel fulfillment activities (ship from store, buy on behalf, click and reserve) and suggest service improvements.
- Manage cycle counts, stock-takes, reconciliation of discrepancies, and escalation of stock loss or adjustments.
- Supervise POS audits, cash drop procedures, returns/refunds, and other back-office administrative tasks.
- Lead loss prevention initiatives, security coordination, and store maintenance follow-up.
- Train, mentor, and onboard back-of-house staff to improve efficiency and operational compliance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of retail operations, inventory management, or similar store operations experience.
- Proven knowledge of inventory reconciliation, stock control, and loss prevention practices.
- Proficiency with retail systems and tools (examples: SAP, PRISM, POS platforms, Microsoft Office).
- Strong leadership, training, and communication skills with the ability to drive team performance.
- Analytical mindset with experience identifying process improvements and managing retail costs.
- Ability to work on-site according to retail store hours and support high-visibility boutique operations.
