Tailor

Summary

The Tailor fits, pins, marks and alters garments to client specifications, completing alterations to a high technical standard and delivering garments by the promised date. The role works directly with clients and Sales Associates to ensure correct fit and client satisfaction while following departmental pricing and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Measure clients to determine scope of work
• Pin and mark garments appropriate to fabric and fit
• Complete alterations as pinned and to the highest technical standard
• Deliver completed garments on or before the promised date
• Inform clients of alteration charges per current price list and confirm promise dates
• Partner with Sales Associates to ensure client satisfaction and provide guidance on cut and fit
• Complete designated sections of alteration tags and follow the Holt Renfrew price list
• Report supply requirements or equipment repair needs and maintain department cleanliness
• Comply with Health & Safety and privacy requirements

Requirements

• Tailoring or seamstress technical training or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar capacity
• Previous experience altering luxury fabrications
• Comfortable communicating in English and/or French
