Summary
Produce high-quality alterations on Ready-To-Wear and Haute Couture garments for VIP clients, ensuring precise fit and preservation of luxury fabrics and construction. Serve as a technical expert in tailoring and flou techniques, collaborating closely with VIP relations and boutique teams to deliver exceptional client service. Maintain production standards, confidentiality, and the functionality of sewing equipment while contributing to the development of alterations talent.
Responsibilities
- Perform fittings and execute alterations such as hemming, mending, taking in and letting out seams, lengthening, and reversible modifications on luxury garments.
- Ensure alterations meet CHANEL production standards and are completed within established time frames.
- Work directly with VIP relations and boutique teams to understand client specifications, preferences, and special requests.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines, irons, and pressing equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Preserve confidentiality when handling garments and client information involving publicists, stylists, agents, and VIPs.
- Demonstrate specialty techniques (leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes) and support training or skill development within the alterations team.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.
- Expert technical sewing skills with mastery of tailoring and flou techniques and knowledge of a variety of fabrics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong client service orientation.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with boutique and VIP relations teams.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lb and work under time constraints.
- Flexible schedule with availability for late nights, weekends, and some holidays; in-store presence required for boutique operations.
