About the Job

CHANEL is looking for an Architectural Design Specialist to join the Global Boutique Architecture Team (BAT) in New York. You will play a leading role a growing team of architects that oversee and drive the design and development of CHANEL fashion boutiques and other projects worldwide. You will work closely with both the Group Director and Head of Global Boutique Architecture in building global in-house design and development capabilities. Our ideal candidates are recent graduates or those with several years of experience with a passion to grow their role as an architect within the luxury retail industry.

What impact you can create at CHANEL

  • Help build Global Boutique Architecture Team with in-house design and development capabilities that support the company and the regional teams
  • Drive the design and development of special projects including unique architectural/interior design projects, offices and other types of facilities projects, and sustainability initiatives
  • Responsibilities include coordinating with design architects, liaising with internal stakeholders, reviewing designs, and managing schedules
  • Bring regional teams closer together by helping develop, maintain, and communicate standards, frameworks, methodologies, and guidelines to be shared with regional teams and other key internal stakeholders, thus ensuring projects are managed efficiently and consistently across regions
  • Support the Group Director for coordination of BAT calls and Global BAT meetings, working on the scheduling and logistics of virtual and/or physical meetings with the entire BAT community (around 50-60 people) but also on the agenda of each session, the communication, and interactions with participants as well as the facilitation of some discussions
  • Support the coordination of the partnership with Peter Marino Architect (PMA) in line with merchandising/commercial, image and business priorities, tracking and communicating new and changing Pma design elements and maintaining PMA design elements within a central source
  • Assist the Group Director in preparing and delivering project presentations and updates to senior executives
  • Coordinate with Regional architecture teams with ad hoc project management and/or design support as needed

What you will bring to the team

  • University degree, a professional degree (B.Arch/M.Arch) in architecture preferred
  • Licensed Architect or architecture license in progress
  • Several years of experience (2+ years) in esteemed design practice or luxury retail preferred
  • Ability to develop design options for internal reviews and client presentations, have good understanding on detailed design and interest in bringing concept to construction reality
  • Strong visualization rendering, drawing, and graphic skills, and a good eye for aesthetics
  • Strong communicators both in written, speaking, and aesthetics.
  • Ongoing professional credentials such as LEED AP or similar
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Proactive and hardworking, with a no-task-too-small attitude
  • Ability to effectively communicate and share concepts/design intent
  • Must have strong professional proficiency in 3D Modelling (Revit/BIM, Sketchup, Rhino, etc), AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong drawing/drafting experience on Cad or Revit
  • Ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams and functions
  • Collaborative mindset, self-motivated and flexible in a fast changing environment across different time zones
  • This role is expected to have occasional domestic and international travel

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $55,700 through $88,780. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
