Job Description

The Assistant Manager, QA is responsible for the management of all day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance department, in conjunction with the department Manager. Through staff and workflow management, the Assistant Manager ensures servicing orders are prioritized, communicates handling special/rush requests from other departments, and ensures high accuracy and on-time performance for a team of QA Inspectors. The position is also responsible for providing direction and training to staff members along with resolving day-to-day operational and repair issues. Reporting on key department metrics and performance management are other expectations of this position. This position will also participate in communication of issues and solutions to ensure high quality results and optimum service levels with both internal and external partners. The Assistant Manager provides management support, direction, and development for the staff. In addition, the Assistant Manager ensures all schedules are properly updated to ensure adequate coverage, maintains accurate timesheets for payroll and assists with the implementation and monitoring of new processes and projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Graduate Gemologist
  • 3 years’ business experience with strong operational background
  • Experience working with luxury product and/or in a retail, manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong client orientation focused on excellence in the client journey
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration
  • Ability to inspire trust, fairness, integrity, and professionalism with staff members
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a highly dynamic, fast paced and team-oriented environment
  • Flexible work schedule and ability to work overtime as needed, including possible weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to view items under a microscope for extended periods of time
  • Proficiency with any of the following: JDE One World, E1 and Business Objects
  • Knowledge in AS400, MIPS, POS or Compass
  • Distribution and/or quality assurance experience
  • Tiffany & Co. product knowledge
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience

The hiring range for this position ranges from $88,000 – $119,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
