Alterations Specialist - South Coast Plaza

Summary

Provide expert alterations and garment repairs in a luxury boutique environment, ensuring each piece meets CHANEL production and client service standards. Deliver precise fittings and execute complex alterations on fine fabrics and embellished materials while maintaining organization and care for client-owned items. Collaborate with boutique colleagues to support optimal client experiences and uphold brand craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality altered merchandise within established time frames and standards.
• Fit garments on clients and determine appropriate alteration techniques and adjustments.
• Work with specialty materials (leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring) and handle delicate trims and chains.
• Organize, label, and maintain client-owned pieces and record alteration requirements.
• Maintain sewing machines, irons, and pressing equipment in proper working order.
• Provide styling and fitting advice to clients and build positive team relationships within the boutique.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.
• Strong technical background with various fabrics and sewing techniques, including fine tailoring and specialty skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent client service and communication skills.
• Minimum High School Diploma and ability to lift 15 lb.
• Flexible schedule with availability for late nights, weekends, and some holidays.
