Area Manager - Facilities

As an Area Manager - Facilities at Nordstrom in White Plains, NY, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities systems across multiple locations. You will be responsible for ensuring a safety-first culture, maintaining strong relationships with site leads and business partners, and driving customer satisfaction in the delivery of Facility Management services.

• Establish and maintain a safety-first culture and promote safe work practices.
• Manage a team of technicians, vendors, and suppliers to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
• Build relationships with site leads, regional leadership, and business partners.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee planned and scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Act as a point of contact with site occupants and property management.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Respond to emergency calls as necessary.
• Possess technical knowledge of HVAC, Vertical Transportation, and other building systems.
• Support leadership in achieving operational goals.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Facilities Manager or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred.
• Solid knowledge of building/mechanical, electrical systems (MEP).
• Experience using CMMS systems and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, TPC, or other operational excellence methodologies are a plus.
