Asset Protection Agent

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent maintains store safety and protects merchandise by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft. The role partners with store leadership and the Emergency Response Team, uses video and RFID technology, and conducts investigations and apprehensions in accordance with policy. Agents respond to security and medical incidents, prepare incident reports, and may testify in court when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents while adhering to AP policies and procedures.
• Monitor video systems, leverage RFID and reporting tools, and identify theft trends to support investigations.
• Investigate internal theft, gather evidence, prepare reports, and partner with AP leadership and investigation teams.
• Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents; serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training.
• Lead security audits, implement shrinkage reduction action plans, and collaborate with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement.

Requirements

• Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling safety issues or aggressive individuals.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and meet any state or local licensing requirements.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
