Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in achieving sales and productivity goals, coaches and develops the sales team, ensures merchandising and inventory standards, and delivers exceptional customer service on the sales floor. This role contributes to recruiting, training and motivating team members while participating in selling and building customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire train and develop department sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving volume and productivity goals through business planning
• Coach salespeople to ensure outstanding customer service and directive selling
• Sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Support accurate inventory management and help achieve shrinkage goals
• Work with managers and merchandisers to maintain productive relationships

Requirements

• Proven track record of sales results and productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Strong organizational skills and follow through
• Experience developing relationships with store and department leadership
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
