Job Description

Overview

Founded in 2021, our brand has quickly achieved wholesale adoption and is featured in prestigious major retailers and independent boutiques nationwide. We offer a curated selection of fine and high jewelry including many one-of-a-kind pieces. We are expanding our product offerings beyond jewelry to include perfumes and unique clothing. We are seeking a Store Manager to lead the opening of our first flagship store in SoHo, New York.

Responsibilities

Opening
  • Support the end-to-end store launch plan and critical path to deliver an on-time opening in SoHo; coordinate with founders, landlord, GC, visual partners, security, and IT.
  • Help define the operating model (hours, staffing levels, coverage, services) based on traffic and sales goals; build a bottoms-up budget for year one.
  • Contribute to all SOPs: opening/closing, key & safe control, cash handling, vault logs, high-value product handling, clienteling standards, remote sales, shipping/insurance, repairs/after-sales.
  • Partner with merchandising/founders to finalize launch assortment and allocations; plan BOH organization, stockroom layout, and cycle-count calendar.
  • Hire and onboard a founding team (keyholders, stylists/associates); create training modules for high-jewelry selling, fragrance & apparel cross-sell, and brand storytelling.
  • Plan and execute soft-open/preview events (VIP, press, stylists, hotel concierges); build appointment-only private viewing protocol.
Sales & Client Development
  • Lead the business to ~$5M in year-one store revenue; personally deliver ~$1M in individual sales through appointments, outreach, and private showings.
  • Build a top-client strategy and clienteling rhythm (daily/weekly outreach targets, follow-ups, wish lists, special orders, white-glove delivery).
  • Drive cross-category selling (jewelry → fragrance/apparel) with bundle concepts and look-building to increase AOV and UPT.
  • Manage a calendar of trunk shows, capsule drops, and one-of-a-kind unveilings; coordinate pre-sell lists and private previews.
Team Leadership
  • Hire, schedule, coach, and performance-manage the team; run daily huddles, role-plays, and product knowledge sessions.
  • Establish a luxury service culture: greeting standards, appointment choreography, private salon etiquette, gifting, post-purchase care.
Operations, Compliance & Security
  • Oversee all daily operations: cash reconciliation, bank deposits, vault counts, shipment receiving/RTV, transfers, sizing/repairs, and documentation.
  • Maintain serialized inventory integrity; implement cycle counts and quarterly full counts.
  • Enforce loss-prevention protocols and incident response; liaise with insurers and security partners as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations for high-value transactions, health & safety, and labor practices.
  • Manage controllable expenses (supplies, packaging, alterations/repairs, event spend) to protect store P&L.
Merchandising & Brand Presentation
  • Execute floor sets, display standards, lighting, and cleanliness to a gallery-grade level; maintain BOH organization for speed and security.
  • Provide regular sell-through and client feedback to inform buys, replenishment, and one-of-a-kind curation.
  • Partner with founders on storytelling moments (pedestals, vitrines, fragrance bar, apparel capsules) that reflect the brand’s aesthetic.
Marketing, Community & Partnerships
  • Build neighborhood and concierge partnerships (SoHo hotels, stylists, personal shoppers, luxury concierges) to drive qualified traffic.
  • Coordinate with marketing on local content, influencer appointments, press previews, and event recaps; capture UGC and client testimonials (with consent).
  • Own the store events calendar and KPIs (RSVPs, attendance, conversion, new client adds, revenue per event).
Reporting & KPIs
  • Track and report daily/weekly metrics: traffic, conversion, AOV, UPT, sell-through, client adds, outreach actions, event ROI.
  • Produce monthly business reviews with action plans for growth, staffing, and assortment optimization.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience as a Store Manager in luxury retail, with a proven track record in high-end sales.
  • Extensive experience in fine or high jewelry sales.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of clients, from edgy to classic styles.
  • Comfortable working with a smaller brand environment, demonstrating a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.
  • Strong operational and administrative skills, including loss prevention.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
