Assistant Manager, Material Operations

Summary

The Assistant Manager oversees day-to-day Material Operations in partnership with the department Manager. The role manages staff and workflows for repair orders, parts, estimates, and direct-from-customer repairs while supporting service quality, process improvements, and financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff, schedules, repair order workflows, and parts issuance.
• Oversee repair estimates, timing, aged and past-due orders, and daily reporting.
• Set expectations, coach and develop staff, delegate work, and support performance management.
• Monitor quality and service, implement process improvements, and support workplace safety.
• Plan and forecast departmental needs, monitor compliance, and assess costs, benefits, and contingency plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of business experience with a management background.
• Strong initiative, organization, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, influence partners, and work flexibly, including possible overtime and holiday-season weekends.
• Preferred: experience with Tiffany & Co. applications, operations or luxury retail, jewelry or watches, direct customer interaction, or analytics.
