Job Description

Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a men's apparel department. This role involves recruiting hiring training and developing the sales team while contributing to merchandising inventory and presentation standards to meet productivity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit hire and train department sales staff
  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve department volume and productivity goals
  • Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Actively sell on the sales floor to build customer relationships and drive personal trade
  • Support merchandising presentation and standards in partnership with the department manager
  • Assist with inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
  • Collaborate with store managers and divisional merchandisers to maintain productive relationships

Requirements

  • Proven track record of achieving sales results and strong productivity
  • Competitive drive and ability to perform in a commission based environment
  • Ability to set and achieve sales goals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to follow through
  • Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with retail leaders
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
