Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to ensure a profitable retail store. This role drives operational excellence, talent development, customer experience, inventory control and brand standards to achieve business results.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning store initiatives
- Educate and coach the team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in client development strategy and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy and participate in recruitment and networking
- Provide ongoing coaching feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Manage store execution including inventory control to meet shrink goals
- Champion new technology and new ways of selling to drive results
- Maintain sales floor and store standards at all times
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high-volume environment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Ability to stand walk and move for multiple hours and lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to operate register and work flexible schedule including evenings weekends and potential travel
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Strong business acumen and planning prioritization skills
