Summary
The Associate General Manager supports the General Manager in leading the Soho store to achieve sales and profitability goals. The role develops and coaches the sales team, enforces operational and visual standards, and builds strong client relationships. It balances customer-facing leadership with back-of-house responsibilities to ensure efficient store operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example and support the General Manager in driving sales performance and store profitability.
- Develop, train, coach, and motivate a high-performance sales team to achieve comp store results.
- Monitor day-to-day store activities, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Work on the selling floor to build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients and support clienteling efforts.
- Collaborate on events, marketing, and client experience initiatives and present competitive insights to the General Manager and corporate partners.
- Support back-of-house operations including inventory, POS systems, shipping and receiving, maintenance, security, and loss prevention.
- Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards and enforce security measures to minimize shrink.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience; luxury retail experience preferred.
- Full understanding of specialty retail including clienteling, visual merchandising, and store operations.
- Computer skills including retail point of sale systems, Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and maintain professionalism.
- Positive, outgoing, high-energy, sales-focused personality with the ability to partner effectively with the Store Manager.
