Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in creating and executing strategic plans to ensure profitable store performance and operational excellence. This role helps drive talent development, community outreach, and delivers a consistent customer experience aligned to brand standards while acting as a key decision maker in the GM's absence.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning store initiatives
- Educate and coach team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in developing clienteling strategies and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy and participate in recruitment and networking activities
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Manage store processes including inventory control to achieve shrink goals
- Champion new technology and selling techniques to drive results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods
- Ability to operate register and work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
