Summary
Part-time Bookseller responsible for delivering exceptional client experiences at the Bookmarc location in Manhattan. Role involves customer engagement, clienteling, merchandising, inventory support, and POS transactions to drive sales and maintain store presentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize inventory on shelves ensuring stacks are neat and organized
- Replenish stock and locate items for customers while suggesting sales when appropriate
- Create and refresh visual displays and merchandise tables for product launches and themes
- Process POS purchases and complete register transactions accurately and quickly
- Engage customers, share knowledge of books, and make relevant recommendations
- Continuously educate yourself on books and the industry to support customer experience
- Achieve and exceed personal sales goals
- Assist in bi-annual inventory cycle
- Follow all store operational policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years retail experience
- Previous bookseller or literary environment experience a plus
- Excellent organization skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with Excel Word and Internet
- Able to lift boxes ranging from 10-50 lbs regularly
- Available minimum three weekdays per week and one weekend day with open availability
