Counsel, Real Estate

Summary

The Counsel, Real Estate is responsible for all real estate and engineering/store planning documents for the Americas. The role reviews, negotiates and drafts leases, construction and service agreements, and manages lease summaries, templates and property charts. The position coordinates closely with real estate, engineering, project managers and senior legal leadership to support store, outlet and warehouse locations across the region.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and revise leases for retail stores, outlets, warehouses and storage locations and draft related letter agreements and estoppels/SNDAs.
• Draft lease abstracts/summaries and board memos/consents and circulate to local and HQ teams.
• Review, negotiate and revise general contractor, purchase order, architect and service agreements for store build-outs and maintenance.
• Manage and update the Real Estate master property chart and maintain engineering/contract templates.
• Lead regular meetings with the Director of Real Estate, project managers, General Counsel and SVP of Engineering/Store Planning.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited US law school.
• Member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of leasing and construction contract experience at a US law firm or US retail company.
• Fluency in English.
