Summary
The Demand and Distribution Planning Manager will drive demand and distribution planning for select categories across retail and ecommerce, collaborating with merchandising, retail, finance, logistics, and central supply chain teams to increase sales and respond to opportunities and challenges.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze monthly demand forecasts at multiple aggregation levels and time horizons.
- Review historical sales trends and develop statistical forecast models and evaluate results.
- Develop sales plans and maintain OTB coordinating with merchandising and supply chain teams.
- Manage inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and phase-outs.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis for quarterly and seasonal hindsight and investment reviews.
- Drive weekly business discussions with merchandising and country leaders to analyze selling trends.
- Assemble and study actualized shipments and sku counts and coordinate additional inventory with supply chain.
- Allocate merchandise to retail stores and e commerce according to launch plans and inventory levels.
- Coordinate merchandise transfers and communicate picking and shipping priorities to warehouse teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in luxury retail or wholesale as a planner, allocator, buyer, or retail business analyst.
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills with validated retail math and business intuition.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to run and analyze large data sets.
- Experience with demand planning software; knowledge of Power BI and Anaplan a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic problem solving and ability to influence senior leaders to execute strategies.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
