Summary
Design and develop scalable software applications, data pipelines, and database solutions that support Nordstrom's product information systems. Help deliver accurate product data to business users and downstream systems.
Responsibilities
- Build reliable microservices and distributed applications using modern technologies and sound engineering practices.
- Design data solutions that meet business needs and account for interactions across systems and modules.
- Conduct code reviews, develop testing tools and CI/CD pipelines, and improve engineering automation.
- Optimize data performance and provide production and on-call support, including incident resolution.
- Support production alerts, logging dashboards, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with teams across the company.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with a modern programming language such as Java, SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and automated engineering solutions.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, New Relic, and cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience building near-real-time distributed data processing solutions and scalable, event-driven systems.
- Experience applying AI tools across the engineering lifecycle and following operational excellence practices.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in retail or supporting merchandising systems is preferred.
