Engineering Manager - Inventory Positioning

Summary

Lead a team that develops and evolves an inventory positioning platform using AI to optimize inventory placement across stores and fulfillment centers. Collaborate with Inventory Management, Supply Chain, and Merchandising to deliver scalable, secure software and enable production deployment of ML models. Drive technical strategy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a software engineering team focused on inventory positioning.
• Work with stakeholders to define KPIs, roadmaps, and priorities aligned to business objectives.
• Partner with data scientists to productionize and optimize machine learning models.
• Drive cross-team collaboration to align technical strategy and manage dependencies.
• Contribute to architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent and promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing teams.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building cloud-first distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of dev-ops practices including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and production support.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Exposure to supply chain or retail and experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow) preferred.
