Summary
Lead an engineering team responsible for the enterprise product data layer that powers merchandising, pricing, personalization, vendor programs, and downstream analytics. This hybrid Seattle role combines technical leadership, hands-on architecture and platform modernization with people management to deliver reliable, scalable data products and partner data feeds.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a team of engineers building event-driven pipelines and cloud data warehouse products.
- Own the enterprise product dimension layer and ensure high data quality across item hierarchies.
- Drive the brand partner data program to onboard and sustain external vendor feeds.
- Deliver pricing, promotions, and campaign reporting capabilities in partnership with merchandising and marketing.
- Lead platform modernization efforts including medallion architecture migration, observability, and cloud infrastructure.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions and promote DevOps best practices (CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, incident response).
Requirements
- 5+ years software engineering experience with event-driven systems or distributed data pipelines.
- 2+ years managing engineering teams with hiring, coaching, and performance feedback responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or Confluent Cloud and messaging patterns.
- Proficiency with Java and/or Spring Boot for building microservice consumers.
- Experience building data products in cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), Terraform, containerization, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
