Facilities Technician 2 - Southern Cal Distribution Center

Summary

The Facilities Technician 2 performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on building systems and material handling equipment at the distribution center. This role supports operations by designing maintenance solutions, leading preventative maintenance procedures, and closing work orders with accurate data. The technician promotes a safe work environment while operating equipment and collaborating across departments to meet facility goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance programs and lead preventative maintenance procedures for building and material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair conveyors, motors, reducers, belts, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment and maintain relay logic and control components.
• Safely operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, and hand tools to perform system support tasks.
• Create, update, and close work orders with labor hours, maintenance actions, and parts used.
• Assist in training service technicians and support department and facility goals.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment and power tools.
• Working knowledge of work order systems; basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs preferred.
• Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic tools and familiarity with sensors, motor starters, relays, timers, and inverters.
• Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand/walk during shifts up to 12 hours; ability to safely operate lifts and forklifts.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
