Summary
The Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate store inventory and organized stock areas, minimizing loss through proper inventory control, and supporting daily receiving and shipping operations. This role ensures merchandise is handled correctly, supports store compliance and security procedures, and assists with merchandising and housekeeping tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Process all shipping and receiving functions accurately and efficiently, including inbound freight and returns-to-vendor.
- Maintain orderly stock, receiving, and storage areas and ensure merchandise is properly ticketed, sensored, and secured.
- Handle processing of chargebacks, transfers, damages, and related inventory documentation.
- Participate in inventory and cycle counts and communicate with central distribution or corporate inventory control.
- Assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, price changes, packing or wrapping customer purchases, and general housekeeping.
- Support compliance with store policies, security procedures, and record-keeping; help resolve operational issues and suggest improvements.
Requirements
- Previous retail stock/shipping/receiving experience.
- Ability to handle receiving operations and properly process merchandise and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to read, count, write, and process information through inventory-control computer systems and phone systems.
- Capability to operate necessary equipment, including sensor-tag remover and related tools.
- Willingness to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays and the physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move boxes and fixtures.
