In-Store Tailor

Summary

In-Store Tailor responsible for taking accurate measurements for bespoke and ready to wear garments, performing alterations and mending, and advising clients and sales advisors to achieve optimal fit. Works closely with the store team and atelier to communicate measurements and tailoring needs. Requires strong garment construction knowledge and proficiency with industrial machines and hand sewing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Take accurate body measurements for bespoke and ready to wear garments
• Perform alterations, mending and ameliorations on ready to wear items
• Use tailoring techniques to address different body configurations and postures
• Advise clients and sales advisors on necessary alterations for best fit
• Communicate measurements to the atelier and bespoke ambassador in standard format
• Take measurements for suits shirts and casualwear in bespoke collections
• Assist store personnel to meet customer needs regarding fittings
• Work confidently with industrial sewing machines and hand stitching

Requirements

• Educated at schools of pattern making or equivalent
• 3-5 years tailoring experience ideally in luxury menswear
• Fluent English; Italian desirable
• Strong understanding of garment construction
• Advanced knowledge of fabrics and hand sewing techniques including buttonholes
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Highly organized passionate and self-motivated
• Customer focused team player with flexibility
