Summary
The Merchandising Manager, Ready-to-Wear will develop seasonal merchandise plans and assortment strategies for Women's and Men's Ready-to-Wear across North America, driving sales plan achievement, sell-through targets, and inventory optimization. This corporate role is based in the New York office with regular travel to stores and Paris.
Responsibilities
- Generate seasonal merchandise plans and assortment strategies to maximize sales across the US retail network.
- Prepare sales reports and analyze sales data to inform buying and inventory decisions.
- Execute buying activities including order entry, Open to Buy development, and participation in buying sessions in Paris.
- Monitor in-season performance with regular reforecasting, transfers, and reorders to optimize sell-through.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Central Merchandising, Finance, and Omnichannel teams to manage deliveries and distribution.
- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Retail teams to ensure proper product presentation and store execution.
- Work with CRM and Training teams to support promotional activities, events, and retail training.
- Lead projects and manage a Merchandising VIE to support team objectives and launches.
- Generate and interpret reports to recommend actions that improve performance and customer engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of North American market retail buying experience.
- 6-9 years of luxury buying experience focused on Ready-to-Wear.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience leading a merchandising category.
- Strong analytical skills with Excel expertise including pivot tables and vlookup.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and travel 40-60% including Paris.
- Detail-oriented with strong product sensibility and commercial mindset.
- Fluent in English; additional languages advantageous.
