Summary
The Operations Supervisor I oversees distribution center activities including Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Ecom, and Spare Parts, manages labor to meet operational metrics, and provides leadership, training, and process improvement direction for the team on the day shift.
Responsibilities
- Organize and assign daily work to meet operational targets and demands.
- Analyze data from dashboards, forecasts, and budgets to drive decisions.
- Monitor productivity and quality results and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and supervise process quality control actions to ensure consistent procedure execution.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules and incident reporting processes.
- Provide training, coaching, and development for team members to promote engagement and retention.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives including root cause analysis.
- Manage details of operations, facilitate daily shift meetings, and adapt schedule as business needs change.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in operations or distribution.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and ability to manipulate reports from SAP and other tools.
- Proficient with SAP Extended Warehouse Management and working knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma process improvement methods.
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills in English, verbal and written.
- Ability to independently manage tasks and coordinate process improvements.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and facilitate daily shift meetings.
