Summary

The Polisher is responsible for applying design finishes to high-end jewelry and prototypes, ensuring work is completed to specification and on schedule. The role involves working on intricate sold orders, bridal pieces, and mainline product using gold, silver and platinum. The Polisher collaborates with the polishing team and manager to support high-volume production while proposing and refining finishing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Independently polish and finish high-end intricate pieces including sold orders and bridal.
• Apply requested finishes to design prototypes within required timeframes.
• Collaborate with the polishing team and manager to complete a high volume of daily requests.
• Propose and implement new finishing techniques to achieve design intent.
• Provide input on finishing techniques for production processes.
• Perform quality control and inspect projects for defects.
• Polish, refinish, and clean gold, silver, and platinum repairs.
• Maintain organized chemical cabinets and prepare for safety inspections.
• Follow safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience as a polisher in a jewelry workshop.
• Strong understanding of polishing techniques and experience with rhodium plating.
• Skilled in applying satin and other finish types.
• Experience working with gold, silver, platinum, and precious gemstones.
• Ability to inspect jewelry, identify issues, and perform quality control.
• Effective collaborator with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to changing workflows.
• Available to work overtime as business needs arise.
