Summary
The Senior Engineering Manager leads the Network Engineering team responsible for the enterprise network platform across retail stores, fulfillment centers, and distribution centers. This hands-on leadership role sets technical direction, leads incident response, and advances network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices. The manager partners with teams across technology, security, cloud, stores, and fulfillment to ensure reliable, secure network services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering team, set priorities, remove blockers, and support career growth.
- Oversee network architecture and delivery across SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, wired and wireless infrastructure, and data center fabrics.
- Lead incident response, stakeholder communications, root-cause analysis, and durable remediation.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to develop network roadmaps and deliver solutions.
- Review production changes, analyze network performance and costs, and contribute to automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to major incidents.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of hands-on network engineering experience across enterprise infrastructure and cloud networking, including at least 3 years in people management or technical team leadership.
- Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking, enterprise wired and wireless networks, data center fabrics, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
- Experience leading incident response and producing rigorous root-cause analyses with actionable remediation plans.
- Familiarity with network automation, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and observability tools.
- Experience building high-performing engineering teams and managing network vendors and contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in terms of business impact.
