Summary

The Tailor provides professional fitting, sewing, and alteration services to customers in the Alterations & Tailor Shop, ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. The role measures and fits garments, performs alterations according to company guidelines, manages alteration orders using store technology, and supports department productivity and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size, fit garments, and mark areas requiring alterations
• Perform and complete customer fittings and sewing alterations on time in accordance with Nordstrom guidelines
• Meet department and individual productivity goals while following proper processes and procedures
• Utilize store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs
• Work collaboratively with the Alterations and store team to deliver customer expectations
• Educate customers and employees on proper fit, style, construction, and trends

Requirements

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; preferred minimum of 2 years
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing, pressing machinery, and standard alterations equipment
• Flexibility to work a schedule based on business needs
