Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining safety and security procedures. The role partners with store leadership, law enforcement, and investigations teams to reduce shrinkage and ensure accurate inventory.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents using judgment and conduct apprehensions per policy
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations
- Identify theft trends and implement shrinkage reduction action plans
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for investigations
- Use RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement
- Respond to and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Participate in and lead security audits, training, and shrinkage awareness efforts
- Prepare incident and investigation reports and testify in court when required
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement
Requirements
- Experience with investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in fast paced environments
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a calm demeanor with aggressive individuals
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Ability to participate in Emergency Response Team training including First Aid
