Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results, conducting investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and implementing store safety and awareness programs under direction of management. Trains store associates on asset protection policies and maintains integrity of physical inventory through reports and audits. Supports development of shortage strategies and participates in annual store inventory and ad hoc tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and perform daily and monthly audits.
• Conduct investigations into internal and external theft and support apprehensions.
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection procedures.
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory.
• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls.
• Implement store safety and awareness programs.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to investigations and inventory.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred.
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction.
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus.
