Summary
The Regional Internal Investigator supports Asset Protection store teams across an assigned region by identifying, developing, and resolving internal theft investigations. This role completes the full life cycle of internal cases, collaborates with Regional Asset Protection Managers, Store Managers, and HR, and prioritizes workload based on business impact. The position requires independent work, strong investigative judgment, and travel to stores up to 60% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and resolve high-quality internal theft cases supporting regional Asset Protection teams.
- Certify and train AAPMs and APMs to conduct employee interviews and approve investigations for presentation to store leadership.
- Manage execution of high-risk internal investigations and review case progress to determine next steps.
- Communicate investigation status to AP teams and conduct weekly business review calls with Regional Asset Protection Managers.
- Develop custom reporting queries based on theft trends and review internal incident reports to ensure investigations are opened on solid evidence.
- Hold monthly training calls and support region-wide internal investigations.
- Utilize investigative tools, data, and AP systems to investigate and mitigate internal theft and recommend improvements to detection techniques.
- Travel to stores within the region as required (up to 60%).
Requirements
- 5+ years of loss prevention experience or equivalent law enforcement or military experience.
- Wicklander/Zulawski Basic Interview Certification.
- Previous exception reporting and case management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to develop custom reporting queries.
- Strong strategic, operational, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to apply Asset Protection competencies in a multi-unit environment.
