Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, coaching the team, maintaining merchandising standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role helps recruit, train, and develop staff while executing business plans to meet department volume and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire and train department team members
• Develop and execute business plans to achieve sales and productivity goals
• Coach teach and lead salespeople to ensure outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Support merchandising and presentation standards in the department
• Assist with inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
• Work with department and store leaders to maintain productive relationships

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing relationships with managers and merchandisers
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
