Summary
The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, coaching the team, managing inventory and maintaining merchandising and presentation standards to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Recruit hire train develop and motivate department sales team
- Assist department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals
- Develop and execute a business plan to meet sales targets
- Coach teach and lead by example to ensure outstanding customer service
- Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
- Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
- Support accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals
- Collaborate with department store managers and divisional merchandisers
Requirements
- Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
- Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission based environment
- Ability to set and achieve sales goals
- Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with leaders
- Strong organizational and follow through skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Eligible to work in the location and able to work retail hours
