Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager to achieve sales and productivity goals through directive selling, coaching the sales team, maintaining merchandising standards, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The role involves recruiting, training, motivating staff, managing inventory accuracy, and actively selling on the floor to build customer loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate department sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute business plans to meet sales objectives
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Actively sell on the floor to build long lasting customer relationships
• Assist in inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
• Maintain productive relationships with store and divisional leaders

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with managers and merchandisers
• Strong organizational and follow through skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
