Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, coaching the team, maintaining merchandising standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role focuses on recruiting, training, inventory accuracy, and achieving department productivity and shrinkage goals while actively selling on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire and train department sales team members
• Assist in developing and executing department business plans to meet volume and productivity goals
• Coach teach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Support merchandising and presentation standards in collaboration with management
• Help ensure accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with department store and divisional leaders

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Strong organizational skills and attention to follow through
• Experience working with retail managers and merchandisers
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
