Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer experiences through coaching, selling, merchandising and inventory management. This role recruits, trains and develops the sales team and helps achieve department productivity and shrinkage goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire train develop and motivate the sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute business plans to meet sales targets
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are maintained
• Support accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with store and divisional leaders to maintain productive relationships

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing relationships with managers and merchandisers
• Strong organizational skills and follow through
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work retail hours and perform on floor selling duties
