Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager to meet sales and productivity goals while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves recruiting, training and motivating the sales team, executing business plans, maintaining merchandising standards and actively selling on the floor to build customer loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire train develop and motivate department sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute business plans to meet sales targets
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Maintain merchandising and presentation standards on the sales floor
• Actively sell on the floor to build long lasting customer relationships
• Assist with inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with department and store managers and merchandisers

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing productive relationships with store leaders and merchandisers
• Strong organizational skills and follow through
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
