Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to ensure profitable store performance, operational excellence, and adherence to brand standards. This role acts as a key decision maker in the absence of the General Manager and focuses on talent development, customer experience, and driving sales through new selling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning initiatives for the store
- Educate and coach team on sales and profit performance tools and resources
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in creating store client development strategy and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy, recruit and develop store team members
- Manage store processes including inventory control to achieve shrink goals
- Champion new technology and selling techniques to drive business results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations
- Provide feedback to leadership on high profit potential and category trends
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar experience in a high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods
- Ability to operate register and perform tasks requiring standing, walking and physical activity
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and possible travel
- Proven track record building positive working relationships with customers and co-workers
- Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
