Summary
The Designated Selling Associate is a salesperson focused on one-on-one customer engagement, driving sales for the brand through expert product knowledge, merchandising, and relationship building. This role requires flexibility to support in-store and digital selling, including appointments and use of selling tools such as text and social media. The associate contributes to department readiness through stocking, merchandising, and providing product feedback.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital channels using selling tools and reservations
- Build and maintain lasting customer relationships through appointment-based and event selling
- Provide style, fit, and product value guidance to customers
- Educate peers and conduct product knowledge meetings for the brand
- Assist with merchandising tasks including stocking, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers
- Drive new Nordstrom Rewards account openings and grow sales
- Provide product feedback to the department manager to inform assortment decisions
- Be flexible to perform duties in other departments as business needs require
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate customer rapport
- Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Ability to read and use sales reporting in relation to goals
- Knowledge of fashion trends and ability to educate customers on brands and styling
- Confidence selling across varied price points and articulating product value
- Organizational skills to strategically follow up and advise on customers wardrobe needs
- Ability to perform continuous movement for 6-8 hours and lift items up to 25 pounds
